That's pretty neat, Ed. Is the cover not flexible enough to run it all the way to the ends of the hose?

It does reduce some flexibility but the main reason is that the electrical and the vacuum end up at different places. On mine I have a set up like this:

When I stated the black box on top wasn't added so when it was I had to reduce the cover length to account for it.

Like wise on the tool side you need a little space to use the plug-it and vacuum to attach.

I used a couple of Velcro cable ties to simulate the cover so I got it approximately the way I wanted it before putting the cover on. If I ever do it again I might make a few more adjustments but it pretty close right now. Of course this is how I feel and if someone else was using it they might not like it the way I have it.

BTW Festool sells a hose with jacket and cord in a box for I think it is $250 and it is even nicer but then hey it is $250.

$250 is a mite steep for a covered hose.

Festool has announced a new improved hose, it looks like an improvement over the old spiral versions. You can see it here:

At this point I could justify a new one but some day if mine gets damaged then who knows.

They also have a bluetooth remote which I might actually like. See it here:
