The basement is a disaster still and I'm midway through upgrading all my fluorescent lights to LED so at the moment they are dimly lit flash iPhone pictures of the saw horse stand. I will get better ones soon as well as some other pics of the rest of my setup. Thanks.

I am right there with you. I just bought my first Shopsmith, after wanting one for 30 years. I bought a 50th Anniversary Edition with the 520 table set up. Bandsaw, table saw, lathe, disk sander, belt sander and many extras. The only piece I need to find is the jointer. Pick this gem up for $800. Can't wait to do my first project with it.

Clean it
Lubricate it
Wax it
Align it
Then use it

A process you should always start with with your first use

Then cleaning, lubricating and waxing should be done as needed

Lubrication after 10 hours of use is a good metric

Clean and wax it as needed

Clean it when you put it up

Cover it

Might I also suggest this http://www.shopsmith.com/ss_forum/begin ... 16336.html

It was one of the first items I made with my shopsmith in order to organize my smaller accessories and to start building on my own skill set.

Ooh I really like that!

And thanks Everett. I already picked up my johnsons paste wax and 3 in 1 oil and have started the clean up wax and lube maintenance before I fire her up for the first time. Appreciate all the feedback!
