She still isn,t turning north. Winds down to cat 3. Eye has reset a few times. I hope it blows apart.

Well we made it through,. Lost power 12 Sunday evening, it was out until 7:40 this evening. There is still many in the Tampa area without power. My daughter and her family are out.
Found a restaurant open this morning for breakfast. Waited in line about an hour (in AC) and then about a half hour until someone could take our order. When we left the line was still out the door.

No gas, no water, no food most every thing is closed and most were sold out before the storm.

One place Home Depot was open and taking back generators that people either didn't use or used but returned anyhow. Then there was a line of people buying returned generators at a reduced cost..

Wife told me if power was off for one more day I was buying a generator.

I75 is a parking lot as people that evacuated are now trying to get home. But there is not gas so it is a mess. When some get home they find they don't have a home then demand the government find them a place.

Real mess!

I will post pictures of the clean up job. Lost some big limbs and had leaves and small tree branches all over the front yard.

Maybe you should have bought a recycled generator "for the next time power goes off".

Most of neighbors have generators but they were unused for 12 years and are now useless.
Some were stored outdoors and are junk, some were home's for varmits. And some were taken care of but after sitting idle would not start without a full rebuild.

If we had need fairly often I would but i once every 12 years does not seem like a good idea. Besides being 70 in 12 years I may be home in heaven and they do not have power outages.

I no longer have an RV with a generator but we did have an Onan. We har5dly ever used it to provide power while camping. I fired it up now and then for power to do some wood working away from the grid. What I learned was that they need to be run and serviced on a schedule. The Onan rep here told me to run it under load for at least a half hour once a month.

When we sold the motor home (after 8 years), it fired up and run like new.

All I am saying is that if you do have one it cannot be totally ignored until needed.

Glad to hear that you weathered the storm with minimal impact. I thought and prayed for you as I watched the storm progress.
