I use vinegar soak rags and leave them on for a hour or so. Softens TBII enough to scrape it off. Beware it will discolor the metal and ANYTHING you lay it on. Use protection.

Specifically, acetic acid (CH3COOH).
Used it to soften a part misglued on a maple box. Made the mistake of using a metal putty knife to pry with... it ebonized the box sides in streaks. Looked pretty cool.

This problem of unwanted glue on tools and equipment is a problem I never used to have. I DO NOW. Maybe this is because I used to diligently "clean up" when I finished a gluing project. I DON'T NOW.
My general shop practices have gone to hell in a hand basket.
