I seen SS has pin less spiral blades listed , also some one suggested pegas blades so I wasn't sure if they was any difference . I have straight cut blades from olson but the spiral cut blades seem to be the in thing for intarsia .

The new scroll saw blades came yesterday { flying Dutchman } assortment pack ,and today I installed one in the SS jigsaw just to see what was what, they cut great and a think you all for the tips, the SS saw seems to do ok on cutting .
I have been doing some research on a stand alone scroll saw so we can sit down ,just haven't decided yet on what one .

I dont really have the extra room but it is what it is.

Keep your eye out locally for a SS stand alone. Here one of the local TV stations has a huge classified listing. We got Mary's Teal stand alone SS a number of years ago for $150. It is in near new condition. There have been a few of them over the years. Most recently one for $250 that looked like it was in very good condition. Requires patience but worth it in the end.

Cant seem to get the JET model out of my mind ,the options seem to offer a lot of creature comforts , I also like the idea of the SS and a stand alone power station as it would give me even more options with spt's. but I would lose variable speed .?
Bottom line is ,,well ,,, the bottom line lol ! I will keep a eye out for a good deal and thanks again for the tips .

The SS scroll saw on a power station is variable speed. The SS stand alone IS also variable speed. What is the problem?

I didnt know that about the stand alone , I assumed it was a belt and pulley adjustment for speed ? not quite the same as some of the others but not a deal breaker .

A power STAND has fixed belts.

A power STATION has a variable speed reeves drive with a less broad range than a Mark 5/V. It also mounts other SPT's.

Yes the SS stand alone is variable speer. It has a speed adjustment knob on the on/off control box.

Once again some good advise from this group. I will keep a eye out and my options open.
I have been looking on CL, ebay and FB for stuff in my area as well as checking garage sales and local auctions .
