I plan to cut a flat piece of plywood to fit the bottom of each drawer and add the posts to keep the spools separate in the drawers. We had several thread racks on the wall originally but she had me remove them due to dust on the threads from the nearby farming fields and roads.
Deana, my daughter, has that sort of problem also. She does the majority of her embroidery work in her mobile facility at fairs, rodeos, horse shows, etc. In this environment the dust and road grime is a factor. In the trailer she protects the threads with a plastic cloth that drapes over the racks when she is not working or not on the road.

Luckily, we don't have a dust problem in our house on the desert. Any way, she goes through a lot of thread, so maybe there is not time for dust to accumulate. I think we keep the Minerva Thread Co. in business.

In the past 11 months, her big machine recorded 1300 hours and I've already forgotten the number of stitches. It's in the millions.

Wow! Is this a hobby or a business?

My parents used boxes for VCR tapes if memory serves me right and then put with dowels to accommodate their embroidery spools. They have custom boxes with dowels now.

Image Bradley,
I hope that your Grandpa kept his Mark V nice! If you keep it nice, it will treat you right!
