Two great finds in this thread. Have to get to Tractor Supply and check out some prices.

I don't know the pitch angle. The nut has already been identified as a standard fine thread 5/8" - 18 nut. It is the same nut size used on the first 5/8" Arbor from 1947 through today. Don't forget the Tongued (or Spindle) Washer for the 5/8" (or even the 1/2") Arbors made since 1954.

You should check out Tractor Supply online. There is a larger selection there than the store closest (7.7 miles) to me has.

Yes it was defined after I posted the question. Pitch = threads/inch(imperial). In this case NF.

So, pitch is really the same as Threads per Inch. I have always referred to it as TPI. JPG you still teach me new things.

I think "pitch" is a somewhat misused term. Metric treads are a true pitch. M2 - 1 = 2mm od x 1mm/thread revolution.
Imperial treads are threads / inch. Referring that as thread pitch is sloppy terminology.(guilty!)
Nit picky, says a 1/4 - 20 screw has a thread pitch of 0.050". Imperial TPI (20) is the reciprocal of thread pitch(0.050).
