That is true and I have proof. Below are two of the first group of 250 Shopsmith Tools ever made, the Model 10E. These were ordered and shipped to West Coast Montgomery Wards Stores in 1947. They are 2 of the 3 I have and these 2 have been restored. They are as usable today as they were when new. The 3rd is in the process of being restored. And yes, the bearings and belts have been replaced on the two below.This bears repeating. Shopsmiths don't fall apart over time. Bearings and belts may need replacing, rust may take hold, but some of the oldest Shopsmith machines made are still in use.
