Jim,

thanks for the discussion and for the reviews of the Incra. I was on the fence about ordering one. the picture looks like they just bent a piece of sheet metal for the (hmm, sorry, lack the right term) piece that attaches the fences and/or backing boards. I was concerned that that might be a bit flimsy and prone to flexing and bending (like the one that came with my first router table).

thanks to your review and Alec's reminder, I now have the miter gauge and safety grip on order. just one set for now, though. :)

I got the email special at 1am on Saturday and it expired at midnight on Sunday. What are they thinking? They are going to miss out on a lot of people seeing it and possibly ordering it (like me) with that crazy time offer. It should at least go a day or two into the work week when some of their potential customers are in front of computers.

Oh well.

I don't think so, Beeg. I am very satisfied with my ISP and I didn't get much forewarning on this offer either. The email special was mailed to at 1:19 am on 8/8/09 and expires at 11:59 on 8/9/09.

Not complaining you understand. I had a full 48 hours to read the email, make up my mind, negotiate for funds and place the order.

It does make me wonder how the emails go out each time. Do the same customers get notified early while the same group of customers get notified later (in this case - it appears 3 days later)?

Still not complaining you understand. Could not afford to place an order right now even if I had gotten notified earlier. Just curious.

PS - Opps. I got another email on 8/5/09 - same subject.

If anyone from SS is reading this, or if they are interested:
I too would appreciate perhaps a week to decide on specials.
Additionally, when a new product (I think the Incra Miter V120 SS edition is new) is being introduced, perhaps linking the product to a more detailed review would be beneficial in securing more purchasers. The picture on the SS site made the miter look like a tin attachment.
I don't expect anyone to get all teary eyed, as I missed the boat on this product. After reading the link to Incra, and reading fjimp's comments, I think I will put this on my purchase list. Guess I will have to wait for the Christmas special deal, or the next catalog sale.
But, as an ex-successful-retailer, the idea is to sell the product, not tease customers into missing the product.
Today's e-mail special on the saw products gives me till Thursday Midnight. The Grocery adds give us a week.
Anyway, just my two cents
