Shopsmith INCRA MITER V120 Miter Gauge
I got an email from Shopsmith announcing a new Incra Miter gauge for Shopsmith. If ordered before Aug. 9th includes free kit for adding the safety grip, a 14.99 value otherwise. You can also get a miter gauge grip at a great discount - here's the text from the email:
Here it is...the Shopsmith Miter Gauge that you've been waiting for! No more guessing what angle you've set - no more trial-and-error set-ups that waste your time and materials. Just adjust this Shopsmith Edition of the famous INCRA MITER V120 Gauge for the exact angle you want and feel confident that you’ll get just that!
Made in the USA of rugged, heavy-gauge chrome-plated steel, its unique Protractor Head features a series of laser cut, positive-lock notches at 1º increments (plus 22-1/2º left & right) that let you set precision miters for 3, 4, 5, 6 and 8-sided projects with matchless, fail-safe precision – every time! The bottom of the Head is covered with a specially engineered polymer material that glides effortlessly across your Worktable surface without snags or binding.
To set your angle, loosen the Locking Knob...rotate the Head to the angle
you want...engage the Indexing Tooth in the appropriate angle notch...tighten
the Knob and make your cut. It's just that simple!
The 16-3/8" long X .717" Miter Bar comes with three nylon Expansion Discs that let you set the Bar in the slot of your Worktable for ensured, ZERO-wobble accuracy. And the special T-Clip (removable for use w/ Model 500 MARK Vs) on the opposite end of the bar slides in the Table T-Slot...and can be locked at any location in the slot with a simple twist of a Phillips head screw.
During this special introductory offer, we even include a special FREE Kit that lets you attach your existing Shopsmith Miter Gauge Safety Grip to the Gauge for added safety and control. It's a $14.99 value...but for a limited time, it can be yours at NO COST!
If you would like to order an additional Shopsmith Miter Gauge Safety Grip with your INCRA-MITER V120 during this introductory period, you may do so at a 15% savings for only $40.15.

Having used Incra Miter Gauges and as much as I enjoy the hold down feature of the Shopsmith miter gauge I can hardly wait for the one I ordered to arrive. I do believe Shopsmith has improved on the incra and will have another winner on their hands. Jim:D

It does look nice! I am considering it. I would like to see what you think about it. I did notice maybe my Miter Stop Rod won't fit in this new one?fjimp wrote:Having used Incra Miter Gauges and as much as I enjoy the hold down feature of the Shopsmith miter gauge I can hardly wait for the one I ordered to arrive. You know...........I have a miter gauge stop rod and have never used it. I guess that's because I usually clamp a stop block on a home made plywood extension that I attach to my miter gauge. It does look nice! I am considering it. I would like to see what you think about it. I did notice maybe my Miter Stop Rod won't fit in this new one?
I have the Incra 5000 here in the U.P. and it is a fantastic tool. I plan to order one of the V120's for my shop in Gainesville. While the V120 is not everything that the 5000 is, it will do almost as much, and not take up much space in my small shop down there.
Anything you can do to improve the accuracy of your cuts directly reflects on the quality of your finished product. I think the V120 puts the Shopsmith in a class well above most of the home type table saws "out there" now.
Somehow I feel you may be a bit confused by what you are reading.iclark wrote:I cannot seem to find this part of the offer. what am I missing?
The offer is to purchase the the extra original Shopsmith miter hold down unit. Not for an additional Incra Miter gauge.

me confused?:D almost certainly:D
SS occasionally throws in offers almost too good to believe, so I wanted to double check. especially since easterngray had distinguished between the miter gauge and safety grip in the first sentence.
no offense intended to anyone - I just really hate to miss out on the real good deals because I am being dense (or being slow on the Woodcraft almost-bait-and-switch offers)

Ivan I read that three or four times myself. Then still felt uncertain I understood properly. Oh well ole guys like me are easily confused. I will tell you I like Incra Miter Gauge even without the hold down. With the hold down it will be terrific. I can't wait for it to arrive so I can figure out how to upgrade the one I already have. fjimpiclark wrote:Jim,
