Has anyone mounted 6" jointer?

It is one of the Shopsmith clones. Total Shop also made a 6 inch jointer for their machines.

The hubs(4 groove/spline) are both intended for mounting on the HEADSTOCK. The hubs for individual spt's are in the parts drawings for EACH spt. The earlier versions if the coupling KIT had four hubs as described in post # 9 and as included in your 1950's version..

Tell me about this jointer. Has it been mounted on a shopsmith by someone? Are you sating it fits right in? I never heard of WoodMaster.

I have knot heard of a Woodmaster 6" jointer, but Woodmaster is a company that makes their equipment in the USA! I also have knot seen any product of theirs that resembles a ShopSmith, so I do knot understand mbcabinetmaker's reference to it being a ShopSmith clone???

maybe they are thinking of the Smithy 6" SuperShop jointer. it's a 4 blade made by a clone company.

No, it is not "Total Shop" or the "Smithy." Woodmaster (NOTHING to do with Woodmaster we know today from KC, MO) was a clone (25 years ago?) that made their knock-off so blatantly identical to the Mark V that they were shut down. In almost every way, they were the same machines as a Mark V (even some internal replacement parts straight from SS would work, though not all.) Anyway, their bandsaw, for example, had a metal cover instead of the ubiquitous plastic ones. Their jointer was a 6" model and came in either 3-knife or 4-knife heads.
I don't think there were a ton of these machines and accessories sold, so they're pretty rare out in the wild. I had the opportunity to buy one of the 4-knife jointers several years ago. I can tell you absolutely that they fit on the Mark V with NO modifications at all. The only thing I had to do was switch out some hubs. As an added bonus, the knives are standard-fit knives, i.e., not tapered like the SS.
Also note, if you do find one, you'll need to retrofit your own dust shroud, but that's not too big a problem for a woodworker.

Or, you could just watch for a WoodMaster 6" jointer that fits the mounting posts without any adapting. Harder to come by, but if you can wait, hold out for the 4-knife head instead of the 3-knife head.
