I think you missed the "or" statement, so you are wrong about being wrong just unaware of the "other" option.

I did not miss the 'or'. I attached absolute significance to the word 'standard'.
Am I to understand 45 degrees is also 'typical'?
This reminds me of the one time I thought I had made a mistake, but I later realized I was mistaken to have thought so!:D

My other desktop computer is not working. When I turn it on I get "windows error recovery". When I click on either launch repair or start normally, it acts like it wants to load. Then I get a black screen and it shuts off. I am thinking it is maybe a harddrive problem. I have not any uploads to it. It is running VISTA. I was going to do a clean install, but do not want to lose my pictures.
What can I do????

Pull the hard disk, put it in an external enclosure, then access it from the working computer.
When you get what you want off it, now format it while still in the enclosure, then put it back in the original computer & install the OS.
Now that you have a nice enclosure, go buy a hard drive to put in it to use as external storage or better yet as a backup drive for your main system.

If Steve's easy method doesn't work and the drive is truly inaccessible (which you really need to determine first), get it to a hard drive recovery service. They can usually gain access to the data..... There's a great one here in SD if you have no options. I've used them twice on work computers.

I was able to remove my windows operating system completly and save all of my photos. I then reloaded windows and my photos were all in 1 folder.

Have any of you guys used a palm nailer? I saw one used on DIY channel. They were putting joist hangers for a deck. It looked pretty cool.

Hi,
I have one and it is handy but it has limited use. It is also hard to control the direction of the nail once it has started but when you are in cramped corners that is the way it goes even if you end up having a hammer.
I purchased a name brand unit which I now have seen for under $40, they use to cost about $70... I have even seen some under $20 at select places that sell less expensive items. Can't say how the less expensive versions work.
