The 'offset tubes' were created after it was 'discovered' that you could not raise to vertical with the 'new larger aluminum' table. They are whippy!

Well, since my bandsaw has the iron table, the older 5137779 support tubes appear to be what I should be looking for on a popular auction site.
Oddly, my iron table appears to have self-browned (like the oldstyle rifle bluing) -- I put naval jelly on it and only a few patches of red rust came off. So in effect the table has an anodized top! I'm not yet sure if I am going to just leave it like that (it isn't very pretty) or buff it down to the bright metal.
In my grab-bag-o-parts I got a second 500 table, and the 500 table extension (the one with the miter bar slot). I think I might do SDSSmith's fence mod, and then use the extension on the bandsaw.
Tomorrow is gonna be a big Shopsmith day here --- my 510 upgrade arrived today and I'll be installing it in the morning.
