On re-reading the above I see I was not specific enough in asking about the lathe chisel sharpener. As gregf assumed, I was asking for photos of the SHOPSMITH 555812 Strip Sander Chisel Sharpening Attachment. Thank you.

keakap is likely thinking I was asking about the SHOPSMITH 555204 Sharpening Guide, which can be mounted on the main or extension tables or on the 6" belt sander.

Sorry for any confusion, I will try to use SS reference numbers in future.

The original post was 'accurate'. You did refer to mounting on the strip sander.

Yes it is quite easy to 'miss' important detail(s). I do it all the time!:D I was 'thinking' the other one also until I read some replies.

I should have taken at least as much time reading and understanding the original question as I did formulating my drifting-off-topic reply.
I really have to get better at Searches.

I would love to hear opinions regarding this system vs using a grinder with appropriate wheels - especially for lathe tools. Seems like grinder wheels will last longer, but you are dealing with dressing the wheels and such. replacing the sandpaper can be expensive, but lets you get different grits easier.
