Sorry if this a duplicate post, but if your machine is really from 1947 then it should be a model 10E or 10ER. The serial number will be on the lower part of the SS logo plate on the front of the machine. If the logo plate is missing then the Ser Num is missing also.

If I read the original post correctly, he's asking about a Mark 5 he received as a result of getting the 10ER.

Annnd then there is the possibility to provide information that he did not know was relevant nor how to ask for.

Sure if the plate is not there, only the shadow knows! But there are other items to pursue. Keep a broader horizon! You will be amazed at what a narrow one misses! There is a reason tunnel vision is not recommended for one driving a vehicle!

That's the way I read it! It may be either a Mark 5 or a Mark V and maybe a VII!

Pic sure would help 'identify' it even without a SN!

Its the Mark V I'm trying to figure out. I'll get pictures uploaded this by tomorrow. The serial number on the '47 10e is 4612. No original paperwork came with the Mark V.

Here are my pictures. If the cover on the end of the Mark V is where the serial number is, it's most likely gone forever. Does anyone know what the far left slot is supposed to be used for on this type table? [ATTACH]10294[/ATTACH]

My guess would be early SS Inc. Wrinkle paint, slender red handles, counter sunk end castings/leg mounting screws. The 'extra' slot is also of that vintage. 1972 - 1984
