Thinking about one with the lift assist, I wonder how it would work if you used ropes suspended (securely) from the ceiling? I'm thinking of someone having the ceiling anchor points about 4' apart both ways. You could pass one end of each under the SS and back up to the ceiling anchor point and have the ropes holding the SS just off of the floor like the sawhorses do then just pivot the SS over upside down with it just slipping in the ropes.
Since I don't have a list assist I probably will not try it since the sawhorse method is so good.

Slighly different problem...I can't seem to get the casters on one end to stay in the receiver holes. It keeps falling out every so often. Last time I re-inserted them, I used a couple washers to try and reduce the width but it has fallen out again. Any ideas?

???Washers reduced the width????
Are the casters falling out of the holes in the cam follower, or, are the wheels coming loose from the caster, or, is the cam follower falling out of the casting???

The newer style casters have flat head socket screws in the end of the cam shafts. These screws go through the castings and keep the shafts in the casting. If you have the newer castings, either the screw is missing or it has sheared off. I am not sure this is a better design than the old style casters. If you have the older style casters then you might try flipping your machine and check to see if the legs have become bent or distorted. If this is the cast then the legs will need to be "reshaped".

I don't see any screws - maybe they are both missing. The followers look ok but the whole shaft with the followers and foot lever keeps falling out of the silver pieces that the casters are attached to. I put washers between the outer shell of the legs and the silver pieces to move them inboard a bit and it helped only for a little while.

Here is a pic of the new style caster end showing the socket style flat head screw in place. If you don't have the hole in the casting, you should not have the screw.
Are these the casters that are being discussed here. If so, the only thing that holds the entire assembly together as a caster set is the roll pin in the lower right of the attached photo and a second pin on the other side.

The newer style casters also use the roll pins on each end to hold the "assembly" together. The "upgrade" is the addition of a flat head screw in each end of the shaft that the cams are on. The screws go through the end castings into their respective ends of the shaft.
