I mainly used the shopsmith for lathe and drill press. I just picked up a Powermatic 90 lathe. So at this point turning it into a nice drill press makes sense in my shop. Don’t have room to keep it full size.

OK Let's turn this into a discussion of how to mount 'what you do have'.
The 'normal' end castings mount to the 'legs' by bolts from the sides of the casting into the top sides of the legs.
A block of wood(or more substantial material[metal brackets]) could mounted to the wall for attaching the end castings through the original casting mounting holes.
Alternatively clamping with u-bolts(or clamps) attached to the bench tubes.
Orrrr a tiebar at both ends attached to the wall(kinda weak!). Create a wooden saddle between the wall and tubes(use tiebars to maintain spacing).

I had this Total Shop mounted to the wall for many years. I used angle iron and 8/4 maple. It worked great and left the tie bar in place.

You could do what I did here:
https://forum.shopsmith.com/viewtopic.php?t=6925
but mount it on a sturdy shelf fastened to the wall.

I took it down when I got a Shopsmith with a lift assist and did some shop refitting. Those old Totalshops were heaver and had cast iron tables and were hard on the back to lift so I bolted it to the wall.
I did not add any extra support in the wall. I used lag bolts to attach 2 inch angle iron and bolted the maple to the angle iron.

This seems like one of the most stable options I have seen. Replacing the base arm pivot with allthread going through a wood or metal bracket makes perfect sense.mbcabinetmaker wrote:I had this Total Shop mounted to the wall for many years.
