This has gotten a fair amount of use on motors and drive sleeves. I make hardwood accessories bored for the appropriate shaft size. So far so good.
Hmmm! Maybe THAT would separate my 'corroded er tailstock sleeve and center'!

That was a good idea regarding using threaded 3/8" threaded rod as extensions. I had some 1', 2' and 3' sections in my shop and just used the HF puller to reposition a set collar on an extra long shaft (not a SS piece of equipment). Thanks again:)
light bulb bearing heater

I (and others who rebuild) heat bearings on a 60 watt light bulb for about 10-15 minutes, makes them expand a few thousandths and installation is much easier. Nope, the heat wont hurt them as its lower than that generated while the bearings/motor's turning.

I have never had to heat any bearings for the SS but maybe sometimes they are tighter than what I have seen?
