Called Lowe's today to find out the status of the 120 grit paper. Was told that the paper had shipped today. I was given a tracking number which is good enough for me. I've called Shopsmith and cancelled my back order. So,at least while supplies last, it appears that Lowe's is able to supply 120 grit Shopsmith brand ceramic sanding belts and Shopsmith is not.

The ShopSmith Ceramic Sanding Belts that I ordered from Lowe's showed up today. The color is definitely different than what is shown on the http://www.shopsmith.com web site. The writing on the inside of the belt is different as well. It says "Made with Cerpass DGE" and is trademarked "G2 Ceramic" and has a different product number. The packaging advertises a bi-directional Kevlar joint and guarantees "4x Performance and Life" although there is no mention of how to be compensated for a belt that fails to live up to that ambiguous guarantee. It is labeled "Assembled in the USA. Sandpaper made in South Korea. http://www.shopsmithabrasives.com, Fairborn, Ohio 45324. Copyright 2011." Interestingly, http://www.shopsmithabrasives.com shows pictures and describes the belt that I purchased. It even says "Get it at Lowe's" which, considering that Shopsmith does not have the belts in stock, is good advice.

Went to my local Lowe's today and, to my surprise, they did have Shopsmith ceramic sandpaper. I don't usually go to Lowe's so this find was unexpected. Now, if they just carried any size that would work on a Shopsmith!
