I will certainly agree with your dad, sound advice. As quick and easy as it is to pick a house lock (under a minute with some practice) or toss a brick through a window, I just want to keep out who I can.

I ended up finding a guy a craigslist getting rid of 2 waterbed frames. The waterbed boards are 9 inches wide so that wil save some cutting and leave the 2x4s for another project.

I got to work on them today a little. Instead of have the boards go as the tree grows, I am cutting them into 9 pieces to go sideways. I am cutting a half inch square on each side of the boards so the edges overlap into the next board. Next I an going to drill some holes and feed 3 3/8s x 6th threaded rod through all of the boards. I thinking about adding some liquid nail in the holes to the rods snug.

Also I have computer on order so hopefully I should have some pictures soon.
