The problem with this is the two plans are not the same. The have different coverages so there is no real way to compare.

I would like to see two plans both covering the exact same things, same deductibles, same co pay and etc.
One before Obama Care and one after. Then we could tell the real effect of Obama Care.

Are you eligible for any subsidy from the government that would reduce that premium? That bronze plan is a complete joke

I hope you can get a "silver" or "gold" (whatever the colors mean) plan with subsidies. Please let me know after the website stops sucking :D
Oh, sorry for any confusion, but that's not my plan. I found that posted by someone else. Could be fake for all I really know.

I have Blue Cross Blue Shield through the University I work for. I have not yet heard of any changes to my insurance.

I think you just did!:(

What you once had is no longer available.

Actually Ed I think you saw 'a difference' last month(first mailing).;)

My company made a change but was that the result of Obama Care or an effort to make the profit loss statement look better.

But coverage is so different I can't compare actual costs. That I was wondering if someone else could.

I think O C pushed it over the edge if not.

I can understand the desirability of getting out of providing group insurance.

Made yer 'appointment' yet?:D

'Our' company only made a commitment to me(and everyone else at the time) at retirement to continue 'funding' the health benefit at the 'current level'.

The new 'scheme' makes that far easier for 'it'.

On the positive side, there be different folks with different 'needs' and the new scheme makes getting what an individual actually needs easier(I hope so anyway).

P.S. I just wish I had the $ spent all those years when no claims were made by me. But then recent balloon claims would be a leveler!

That was totally intentional.

There are certainties about obamacare however. One is that only taxpayers will be paying for non-taxpayers' insurance (half the population). Those taxpayers WILL be funding casual abortions (infanticide). Only unions, some large corporations, CONGRESS and select others (obama contributors) will have truly free choice in coverage, company and costs. There are 20 or more new taxes in obummacare, some of which have little or nothing to do with your health care. And the worst and most assured: any and all costs of o-care WILL go up, guaranteed, after the 'mid-term' election, even for the "Elite" carve-outs, and sky-rocket after the '16 presidential election. So say the gummint "non-partisan" analysts.

Note the disclaimers, found in ALL 0-care documents, that speak of no rate guarantees, and that any data, standard, rule or regulation is subject to change without notice (or control).

And one thing that cannot change without notice: not one Republican voted for this illegal law. Not One.

Then how did it pass in the House?

I think at the time the Democrats had the majority which changed in the next election right after this bill was forced through.

Rep. Joe Cao (R-Louisiana) voted FOR the bill on November 7, 2009
