Thanks everyone for your suggestions. I am not trying to accuse the customer service department of poor performance, just stating that they weren't able to give the answer I needed at the time. I am sure my email was not perfectly written, and I may have been more successful in getting the info I needed by calling (tried once but they were very busy and I wasn't able to wait on hold). I will definitely try them again in the future. But this forum has been very helpful as well.

If you don't have plans for these tubes, I would cut just enough off to allow, alignment while maintaining full insertion into the Band saw, and the mount on your SS.

Thanks Jim. I would cut them off but the long portion has a significant taper. It is enough to prevent the cut-off end from inserting into the bores at the base of the bandsaw.

FWIW There have been reports of e-mails not getting responded to. Too short handed. If the phones are busy, there be no one to read e-mails.
