I doubt very much my being ably to attend - NZ is a wee bit too far away. However could the doings be capture to video - the highlights etc - I'm sure it would generate much interest. - I for one would love to see the inner sanctum of the Shopsmith World.

I have t agree with Sandy. So many can't make the trip but doing a saw dust sessions showing off the plant would allow everyone to see it.

I can't make the classes (gotta make the doughnuts), but could probably make the weekend get-together/swapmeet.

Hi Nick,
Sounds like you are trying to restart the Shopsmith Annual Picnic, which the company cancelled a couple years ago. This sounds great to me.
The added bonus will be the classes. More insentive for us West Coast owners to finally make it Dayton.
Hope it works out:) . Let me know if I can be of any assistance out here on the West Coast.
Also, give some thought into planning something like this on the West Coast. I noticed that some of the responses are from owners out here and they can't make it due to their career or financial reasons. I suggested doing something on this end of the country a while back, but didn't get much backing/feedback from the company.

I don't know how I can make even an inclination of attending without some of "those pesky little details" like cost of class, size of finished product (need a vehicle able to take it home, cost of hotels per night, are any meals provided, etc. etc. I would have to take parts of two weeks (8 days) to attend the clock class including travel so it looks like I would not attend.

Let me add this, my enthusiasm to travel to this event wanes more and more with each day's price increase of Gas. My cost for this trip has already increased nearly $100 since it was first mentioned, I shudder to think what it might cost by the time of the event arrives.
Move me from "I wouldn't miss it" side of the list to "I might be there" side for now.
