We know that it raises and lowers the Shopsmith like it should. The remaining complaint was that it was sloppy. What is it that is sloppy? Does sloppy mean that something is loose or is it your way of saying that you don't particularly like the way the lift mechanism works.
One last question. Are the lift cams all tight on the rods? They are secured with set screws that do work loose.
He described floppy as when it is lowered, the floor pedal flies into between the legs and stays there. One must reach down and pull the foot pedal leg out so your foot can reach it.(AIUI)
Since it raises off the floor correctly, all that remains a 'mystery' is the lowered position - why the pistons do not rest into the cam low dwell with minimal "flop".
I think the weight of the casters is preventing the springs from doing that, but need I pix to verify that.

As JPG noted, he doesn't think these casters are OEM Shopsmith, nor do I.
I will say this, it looks pretty obvious the mounting hardware were made to fit a Shopsmith or possibly a SS clone. I also will say this is the first set of 4"+ wheels I have ever seen. If I can get the looseness problem solved it is my intent to clamp a piece of aluminum strip I have to the leg and make a template so I can drill the legs on the "Goldie" and make a temporary or possibly a permanent switch. I really like the way this thing rolls around over little crap on the floor that the little wheels have trouble with.
All comments or suggestions are appreciated.

No doubt in my mind the hardware is OEM from SS. Only the casters themselves are of unknown origin. Whoever redrilled the legs did so correctly or the lift heights would be incorrect.
