This is the long and short of it. One stand does mount to the underside of the top shelf (inverted) This motor is CCW (Counter clockwise)rotation. The cutout on the top of this stand is slightly different than the other Powerstand. The second stand has a shelf mounted down at the brace height.

Interestingly enough it is not one piece, but rather connects by means of the two motor mounting bolts on each side. It's shaped like a bow-tie. This makes for a flimsy mount. This motor is the one that's CW, and not inverted. Also non reversing..Why even make a motor this way?

Crafters Station?

The stand with the bowtie mount is really old. Magna Corp or very early Shopsmith Corp. I have one like that and got rid of lower leg braces/motor mount and bolted plywood mount to underside of top to hang motor.

Not to belabor the point but, you just said it again, that Power Stations are reversible. Mine certainly is not. Did SS make two versions of the Power Station?

Are we talking about the same piece of equipment? This is the Power Station that I have.

It uses the same motor as does my Crafters Station. My Crafters Station and my Power Station motors are reversible. Both utilize a motor part number 515623.

It is interesting (and may be the explanation for this confusion) because the 515623 now crosses to part number 526038. The later motor (526038) may not be a form, fit, function replacement for 515623.

What is the part number on your Power Station motor? Does the label on your motor clearly state that the motor is NOT REVERSIBLE?

I thought that is what you were getting at. The MOTOR very well be capable of being reversed. However, the POWER STATION out of the box has no Forward/Reverse function like the Crafters Station or MK 7. So to me saying the Power Station is reversible is somewhat misleading. Where is the reverse switch?

No, my Power Station does not have a reverse switch but the direction can be changed by removing a small cover, taking off two wires and reversing them. Reversing direction in this manner is not recommended unless you are doing something unique with your Power Station. Why? Because the Power Station motor is now running backwards. Most SPT will not like this.
The Crafters Station is, in all sense, reversible. The reverse feature is selected by a switch that sets up for either Saw (CCW) rotation or for all other SPT CW).

Dusty is correct! It is not a 'feature/function' of the power station, but the motor IS reversible by internal wiring change.

I simply forgot that!

Hmmmmmm A possible use as a sharpening station with the strip sander and the lathe chisel sharpening attachment.

Goes along with my SS. It's 62 now!

Not a simple wiring change unless you do not want it to be switchable.

Making it switchable requires a bit more work.
