As I restructure and supplement the original patent document for easier reading, I will address the 2 degree offset and a number of other items with more detail in my style of trying to explain what they said about what they patented / how it worked, then.
I will send James, John and Dusty preliminary copies of the document once I get it into a shape I think will help understanding. Each of them may have some things they want to see elaborated on or illustrated better.
As always, others will have valuable comment once they see it in a released form. No anticipated date yet, and I will not do the 'view work in process versions' in the forum for a number of reasons, chief among them that I am supplementing an original document written over 60 years ago, opposed to original work.
Like the original Buying a Used Shopsmith Revisited document that originally started this Odyssey in document restoration, or supplimentation, I will keep all the original text in Black, and add additional text in Blue or Red to differentiate it.
