I know when I look at the Molder/Dado Arbor, for example, it is P/N 505506 but the base/threaded shaft part, the set screw, the spacer, the 2 machined washers, the keyed washer and nut each have their own part numbers too.

When I worked for the Air Force overhauling generators the part number was the number on the drawing. If the drawing was updated it had a dash number (i.e. 201-1 ) and the part number was updated to that. That was the part number you ordered. Part numbers were always the number on the applicable drawing.
