Virus protection is as good as it gets. I run ESET Internet Security and Malwarebytes. Both are licensed and paid for. I have been using them for as long as I can remember and they don't report any problems. They both periodically scan the computer and don't find any virus problems. They occasionally find a PUP and it is quarantined and I get the option to delete it or not.

How does one "clear the browser's cache"?

In Firefox go to settings. Click on Privacy & Security and scroll down to Cookies and Site Data and click Clear Data.

JPG,
All browsers are slightly different, but a quick google search on whatever browser you use will instruct you. I believe this will resolve the problems many have been having. It is also good practice to perform this occasionally, like Johnson’s Paste wax. :D

I haven't seen that problem.............yet. It could happen anytime it chooses. I use multiple computers, and they all stay logged in for me. After a long time that I have never identified, possibly every year or 6 months, my machines want me to log in again.
But, I have never been logged out while using the machines.

I happened again last night. I was logged in browsing new posts. Clicked on a thread with new posts. Clicked on "First Unread Post" (or whatever it actually says) and I was logged out. When I logged back in instead of being at the Board Index page I was at the thread with the new posts.

BTW, I cleared the browser cache this morning so we will see going forward.

Just curious if anyone had this issue while using a browser other than Firefox? I used to use Firefox and liked it several years ago, but then I started having some issues with certain websites conflicting with it. I switched over to Chrome at the time and haven't looked back since. Not trying to start a fuss over which browser to use, but just sharing my personal experience...in my limited experience Chrome seems to have the least issues with most websites.

Using Firefox and have not experienced it.

We have a financial place that required me to load Chrome to access their web site. Couldn't be a browser based on chrome but actual chrome. Seemed odd to me but I only use chrome for that site. Seem a shame to have three browser but you do what you have to do. They installed new software back in November and did not mention the fact that you had to have chrome so my login wasn't working. Had to phone them and it didn't take long to discover the issue. I guess they like getting calls from all the other browser users.

Yeh, not sure what their point is about requiring a specific browser. I don't have a problem with FF on any site I go. I find every once in a while a page has problems and it is always traced back to an add-on. Like Add Block Plus or an anti tracking add on. You can always load FF in Troubleshooting Mode which loads in default without all the add-ons and the built in enhance tracking you can turn on.

The big offender used to be The Food Network. It would not work with Add Block Plus. Apparently enough users spoke up and now it works fine. The other one is myPay. That is the government site that has my military retirement account. When I log in it says I am using an unsupported browser but it still lets me in and everything works.
