In the same spirit of Red's classic "barrel of Kerosene trumps any modern penetrant" photo, here is my refurbished Tenon Master. A fresh sharpening and a new handle have made this a joy to use:

Got to spend some time maling sawdust on this today.

Cut the replacement oak part from a HD cull.

I made some changes to the 'design'.

Used T-nuts and 10-32 screws instead of wood screws - had to grind the outer side of those close to the edge.

I counter sunk a groove for a couple of flat washers to ride in.

When the 'sneak preview' is 'done' then all that which is gold(amongst some gray) will be photographed 'together'!;) Mark 5 pix will have to wait(refurb very low on todo list!). Only that which has been 'refurbed' has had a color transformation!

Problem is, once 'done' finding a parking place will be a challenge.

Got the knob(black walnut scrap), the miter slot bar, and the bottom plate done. The bottom plate(very hard Locust that I do not believe is moisture stabilized yet) is not as good as I would have liked, but it served at least as a prototype. I may re do it. It is a bit sloppy sliding in the base, but only slops a half degree. That slop allows the jig to rotate similar to a sloppy miter bar.

The knob is tapped(5/16-18) and a fender washer is between the knob and the base.

The bottom parts. Miter bar is a 3/4 x 3/8 bar stock trimmed to about .730. Used conical disk sander. The bar is recessed 1/16" into the bottom plate(tight fit to insure squareness) and secured with 8-32 screws tapped into the plate. The plate is quite hard wood. The carriage bolt has had its head height reduced(flat disk sander) to allow it passing under the miter bar.

Front with clamp attached. Notice I 'squared' the ends of the slot for the bolt to allow slightly more range.
