Very nice work Dave. I don't think I ever seen a turned wooden object that I did not like. There is just something abut the beauty of finished wood pieces.

Some time back I made this tea-serving tray:

The build steps were mentioned in this thread:

Lately, my wife and mother-in-law, enjoying their own indulgence -- a nice granite machined "Surface Plate" they installed in the kitchen -- noticed that the tea tray wasn't sitting flat any more. I turned it over and eyeballed the two bottom edges in "winding stick" visual style. A few strokes with the block plane got the tray sitting dead flat again on their "measurement surface"

Everyone needs a granite counter top on which to check projects for flatness.
In fact, it would even be nice to have one for assembly and glue up.

It's not as grand as the other projects I've seen on the forum but her is my first completed project. It's a silver tip brush with a Bacote handle.

It looks great. I really want one, but have been hesitant to order the brush.
Nice work. Enjoy.

Thanks,Dave. I am pretty certain the figured veneer is Carpathian elm burl. Although a bit dark, I think it is from age. Here is a shot of the fallboard decal. The fallboard was NOT stripped, as the decal is no longer avail. Even the ones that were, cost upwards of 200 dollars! Now the bi#% is avoiding me! I need the balance due badly! jimsjinx
