Looks like you got ahold of a fine machine. I just posted this pic on a new thread. It's from a Craigslist post awhile back. The machine isn't mine, but I'd sure be proud to own it. Just a little inspiration...

I'm late to this thread, but want to chime in and say that is a beauty of a 10ER, aginhouse! It's in beautiful condition to be original! It was obviously taken care of.

Odd tool indeed. I don't have enough pictorial description to say for sure, but, it may be a chisel or block plane blade sharpener jig. Just a thought.
