Are you saying that it is stopping and you are using windows? At the same spot? Hmmm... sounds like a google problem then. I would guess that videos are posted to on google server and propagated to others. Perhaps the video in question is a bad propagation?

So you're having troubles on Windows with Firefox? If so, this isn't a Mac problem. That is exactly the point where I have been seeing the video stop.

I have a PC; I update as updates are offered; I have XP as my OS. I have had problems with EVERY SS video. I have NEVER been able to view a SS video all the way through. Mine freeze up after only 3 to 4 minutes. Several people have tried to help me on this forum. I have tried all their tricks. Nothing has worked so far.

The funny thing is, I CAN view the live sawdust sessions with no problems.

Second funny thing is that I have no problems viewing videos provided by other sites, just ShopSmith.

Just tried viewing Maintaining the MK V and no problems.
However the very next one I looked ar bombed out at about 14 minutes but re- viewing at about that time frame continues okay.
Puzzled.
Mac/safari.
Anyhow got to see all the video.

All the ones I have tried to watch have stopped, and with three different browsers, and the points at which they stop are the same as those being experienced by others.

I can jump start them by wiggling the progress slider, but this seems like a kludge.

I have been reading but not paying much attention to this thread. I don't believe I have experienced this problem. However, I have "Aligning the Auxillary Table" (Sawdust Session #13) running right now as a test.

I am using Windows so this may be an inappropriate test. Most of the reported problems seem to involve an Apple/Mac.

Guess what. It froze at 14:25. Repeatedly - 4 times.

It is now running after nudging it to 14:27.

What is common to all of us and all of our various configurations?

After being nudged, it ran to completion at 19:14.

I don't know what can be concluded from all of this but it does not seem to be an isolated case.

I did still another test observation. This time I viewed the Sawdust Session on "Precise Planing". It is 20:18 in duration.

It froze at 12:52. This time it needed to be nudged only once. I backed up to12:48 and it played to conclusion.

Well.. I'm wondering if the work around for now is to restart the streaming and move the progress bar over to the section where it left off.. I think I'm hearing that as a possible work around for now...?

It would seem all these issues would go away if we could make the SS videos available as video podcasts via the iTunes music store (or other methods).

This isn't anywhere near as difficult as it may sound (especially since the videos are already produced), and if this is done, it removes most of the platform-dependent and browser-based problems some of us have been seeing. '

Plus, one can subscribe to podcasts and have them automatically sent to your computer when they are published.

And, even if you don't have an iPod, you can view video podcasts right on your PC/Mac.
