Firefox, although comes in third place in the global market of browsers, is known to be more secure (private) and faster than the most widely used PC Browser…Chrome.
Sounds like clearing the browser’s cache was a bullseye. A page being cached in your browser and the browser trying to authenticate the session through an expired cookie is a relatively common occurrence, yet an easy fix. Glad it worked for you.

I still have to log back on after a long period of inactivity.

I do also. After a period of time with no activity the board logs me out. As far as I can remember it has always been that way.

Re: Uncommanded logout
Well, I spoke too soon. I was just logged in and browsing the Community Forum. The board just logged me out when clicked on a different thread.

It might be some new security feature/update from Firefox related to inactivity of a website session. I wasn't following this thread that closely, but I think those that complained of it on the forum are using Firefox right? I did a few Google searches on this, e.g. looking into "website inactivity logout" and related searches. It seems like there have been some reports in the past of this related to certain websites when viewed with Firefox where a logout was forced. This might be a good feature (for security) that they have added, but in this instance it is an inconvenience for sure. It doesn't appear that other browsers have an issue with this forum, so it would be interesting to know if you continue to see the issue with one of them. Just a thought...
P.S. I did come across a potential solution. Below is a link to a browser extension that keeps you logged in.

Re: Uncommanded logout
I remain logged in all of the time and recently have not been active. I have not needed to log back in.

Re: Uncommanded logout
Apparently that is the case for some here. It has never been the case for me. I have never timed it but it is under an hour of inactivity and I am logged out.dusty wrote: Tue Apr 05, 2022 1:35 pm I remain logged in all of the time and recently have not been active. I have not needed to log back in.
However, in the instances I mentioned in this thread I am being logged out when actively browsing the forum. Not always. It has happened maybe 5 or 6 times since it started about two weeks ago.
