I only got two since I didn't have any extra ones already. Will still have to get a Way Tube and the inserts made somehow.

I just plan to make 2 extensions.

In (My) Defense
I was Digging Deep like a Gopher trolling E b ay,
This Particular (Great) Seller had 5 For sale.

Each of the 5 was for sale Individually of course.

So after several emails and all that stuff

I was going to have to pay the price for 1 + shipping for what I got the 5 for.

So I got 5 tie-bars and 5 Knurled knobs for what I consider (Cheap).

You're going to have a few extra Knobs around. The Lathe Extension will likely need a Knob with a longer threaded stud to attach it to the Arm end of the Model 10. I'm thinking of using an Extension Table Knob that holds the Extension Table Bracket to the Tailstock.

Yeah, I noticed that before I purchased them.

But I thought I can use the best of the best to fix the 3 machines I have.

I think I will probably make Something very similar to the Extension table knobs, since I have a pattern to go by.

So now I am only missing three things to complete the 2 setups.

#1 - The tube Couplers (Which I will make)

#2 - The screws similar to Extension table Knobs. (That way it's a complete setup)

#3 - A lock for the carriage because the carriage I purchased was a bare casting.

When looking for a Carriage Lock keep in mind that there are Double Wedge Locks and Single Wedge Locks used for the Way Tube Lock on both the Carriage and Headstock. They are not interchangeable. If your Carriage has a even diameter bore for the wedges completely through it is a Double Wedge Lock. If the back half (past the Way Tube Bore) is smaller in diameter and threaded, it is a Single Wedge Lock.

The picture below shows both the Single (top and middle) and Double (bottom) Wedge Locks. The top and middle show both sides of the single wedge.

I got some checking to do now.

In April 1951 the Headstock and Carriage changed from the Double Wedge Quill and Way Tube Locks to the Single Wedge Locks. This change occurred at serial number ER40908 for the Eastern Plant and serial number R53198 for the Western Plant.

I finally got time to gather the wedge lock parts I have easy access to.
I Then compared and measured them to keep moving (Somewhat) forward on this project.

I jumped (The) gun on the carriage purchase that I got for this project.
I did not know the difference at the time of purchase.
It needs a single wedge lock.
Only Reason I know that now is because of the Info you provided in the post above.

So here is my pictures and measurements of what is in my 10E and 10ER's for future reference.

So many things happen over the years.
Luckily only one of these was Highly Modified.

This handle was not threaded as far up the shaft.

Someone drilled this one out to 1/2" diameter.

Now for my (Table) lathe extension,
The tube is Stuck.
For a month now I have been soaking it in Kroil.
It has not budged.
So, I made this piece to fit inside the tube to add a little persuasion.

This is my attempt before bringing out the hot wrench.

That bushing and a BFH did not budge it.
The hot wrench did though.
