YES!

Yes that is the correct pulley. They are not an off the shelf item hence my statement and I forgot Skip is/was making them. I say was because he has been downsizing for a number of years.

I really am grateful for all the help, belts and pulleys should be in next week or so.

I should be more careful in my reading.

Breaking a Headstock Pulley is a much bigger deal than the Motor Pulley. I have done it myself. If not for Skip still selling them, you would have to go the used market. Used Model 10 Headstock Pulleys with a 13/16" bore due come up for sale still on eBay. Always check when looking for a Headstock Pulley that it is the correct 13/16" bore and not a Motor Pulley or the less common 15/16" bore Motor Pulley from the Model 4E Jointer Mounting/Pulley kit.

The belts and motor pulley came in this morning. I put the chipped head-stock pulley back on just to try it out. Everything worked very nicely, a bit of a vibration at the lowest speed, I suspect I'm not quite tensioned / pulley lined up yet, and I have not yet attached the speed changer to the shopsmith, but pretty sweet. I'll fine tune when the new head-stock pulley comes in.

It looks like you have the Speed Changer Pulley set correctly or at least very close. As mentioned before, running at that slowest speed the one belt should not quite touch the shaft. The Speed Indicator will need adjusting to help give the approximate running speeds. In your picture below the arrows point out the 0 (zero) mark on the Speed Indicator Plate and the raised mark on the casting that should be even when at the lowest speed.

The Chart in the PDF below is handy to have with your Model 10 as a reference. It is a recreation of the original chart. You can see it on the bench in the pictures I posted on January 9th. I laminated that copy.

Thanks Russ, I do have the speed changer chart. I'll double check the alignments and belt tension when I install the new head-stock pulley, as well as adjust the speed indicator.

The headstock pulley came, I probably still have a bit of fiddeling, but the speed changer seems to work very well. I've put the belts on for the high range, the first two photos show it cranked up till I could hear no pitch change, I stopped turning the adjustment knob immediately. You can see the spring compression, I don't know if this is as it should be, but everything was running smooth...scary fast, but smooth. The next two photos are cranked down to the slowest on the high range set-up.

That is a Nice-looking Pulley and a great setup.
