Yup, that is it. Thirty six square miles where the wide awakes roost.

Not to get false hopes up, but The Nice Lady that answers the phones told me that they can order up to seven days (or was it a week?) after the specials end date. I tried to order the sled but was to late. I believe it was not "policy" but they have to make sure of the count, manufacture's time and other variables. Found out there were 184 sleds ordered! She also mentioned that it will be on sale again some time. She doesn't know I am not a patient man!timster68 wrote:I got the email special at 1am on Saturday and it expired at midnight on Sunday. What are they thinking? They are going to miss out on a lot of people seeing it and possibly ordering it (like me) with that crazy time offer. It should at least go a day or two into the work week when some of their potential customers are in front of computers.Oh well.

The company I work for has done everthing imaginable to stay off of the blacklists and it still happens. We follow all the "rules" as does SS, of only sending emails to people that have given us their address, have the opt-out links on every email, and don't send emails to anyone that has used it, pay to be on "whitelists".
Emails still get blocked.
I know Shopsmith's policy has been hands-off of the forum, not using it to market to us, but I too would like to see them have a section on the forum for specials, and marketing campaigns.
Just by way of conversation... I don't look at the 10ER-dedicated sites so I don't know the answer. As a rule, do 10ER users stay "Old Stock" or do they use any modern upgrades [super carbide blades in an appropriate size, Incra miter gages, etc.]?fjimp wrote:Having used Incra Miter Gauges and as much as I enjoy the hold down feature of the Shopsmith miter gauge I can hardly wait for the one I ordered to arrive. I do believe Shopsmith has improved on the incra and will have another winner on their hands. Jim:D
The 10E/Rs have a 'slight problem'. They have 3/4" miter slots/bars! So they gotta use the 'other brands'.nuhobby wrote:Just by way of conversation... It seems to me given the state of our economy if I wanted to market a new untried item, I would make a special offering and see how many orders arrived before I ordered a large inventory. In fact I have noticed that most suppliers are doing just that on new offerings. Just another sign of the times. Are they advertising stuff they don't have in stock?
