Weird retaining rings, not lock washers. Sorry. There’s one in the back? On the inside? Going to look now. I was wondering where that one went. Lol

Nevermind. I see / feel it. I’ll remove the drive sleeve, install the back one, reinstall, and put the front one back in place. That should solve that issue. Now to find that collar

How bout that! I was actually able to get it seated in without removing the drive sleeve.

NO.

FWIW I just bought 10 unplated for $0.64 each for a different purpose. :D

The knurled collar has an extension that bears against the inner race of the bearing and thus acts as a shaft end play preventer.

Repeat the Tony mantra and give him more time to reveal the location of the errant collar. ;)

Fear not there are other sources. (used)

I remember seeing a post that shows that there are differences between the collars of the older single bearing quill and the 2 bearing quill that I have. I found one used on eBay and purchased it as it was fairly inexpensive but I’m not sure which one it is. I guess I have a 50/50 shot of getting the right one. Tony has unfortunately been no help. If you know where I can purchase one and be confident that it’s the correct part, can you send me a link?
