Like a freshly refurbed and painted SS it is pretty, but one does not go to all that effort to gaze upon it only!

The pleasure comes from using it and acquiring scars therefrom.

Happy splashing!!!

I totally agree. Some of the best times in my life were in Quebec hunting Moose. 100 miles north of Chicoutimi literally out where there was nobody. I used to spend 30 days in the bush. If you got hurt or lost nobody would find you (no cell phones in the 80's). We traveled by canoe. There is nothing more satisfying than paddling a really nice canoe on a cold morning on a mirror smooth lake with a little fog on the lake.

I have stories and pictures for days. Unfortunately the pictures are 35mm prints. I really should scan some of them in.

I have a Cannon AE-1 and an A-1. As I am sure you know the A-1 was the best camera body Cannon made back then. Maybe not a Nikon but close. I think it was around $600 in 1985 for just the body. I have an auto winder, full lens assortment, filters etc. I haven't looked at the camera bag in years. If you are interested PM me.

John, can you by 35mm film, check the price, I got the same set up as you but a Nikon F. And no I refuse to buy a cell phone that takes pics, it is a phone, not a camera, but the youngens I think buy a phone to use more as a camera then a phone. Just watch the commercial for them.

You can't knock the convenience of having a camera on your phone. Plus, the iPhone camera is as good or better than a lot of standalone cameras.

Arm extended for zoom, retracted for wide field. :)
