I prefer your approach to that of isolating all the ac conductors in the motor pan but I would have polarized the quick disconnects (not relying just on color code to match up connectors). Goes back to my military days when everything in the aircraft wire harness had to be idiot proof. That made for a lot of very expensive Canon plugs.
