Picked up the Soda Blast today, will blast all aluminum parts with soda to prevent pitting the aluminum surface, the legs will be blasted with Black Beauty blast media to remove all rust even at the bottom of rust pits. Once primed I will mix the hammer paint. Once I mix the hammered colors I will share the formula. There are only 2 parts on this 1957 Greenie that are light green, the aluminum power head casting and the lathe rest, all the rest is the darker green. I will keep you posted

Legs??? What do you mean, what are the legs? The legs are steel, so they rust and pit so I will blast with more agrees I've blast media. The legs are the same color as the Head Rest and the base and the base arm and everything else. Except the Headstock Housing and Lathe rest which are light green

Greenie, Grayling, SS stand alone BS and BS SPT, jointer and belt sander, 3 Ers with Speed Changers. I think those 3 cover my ER needs, and space for them. :)

Legs??? What do you mean, what are the legs? The legs are steel, so they rust and pit so I will blast with more aggressive blast media. The legs are the same color as the Head Rest and the base and the base arm and everything else. Except the Headstock Housing and Lathe rest which are light green[/quote]

I have decided to go as original as possible to this machines original color.

"Legs" are the steel parts. They set on the floor and the casters are attached to them. Apparently they are 'dark' green originally. I think the carriage was originally lighter. Is that what you referred to as a rest?

Carriage is Darker green, Tool Rest Assembly is what lathe tools rest on in use, the arm is lighter green, tool rest (horizontal portion) is darker green, headstock and motor pan is lighter green, base, headrest and legs are darker green as witnessed in the attached pictures of this original paint 1957 SS

Could that be because 10Es don't have legs. Notice Item 30. They really are "legs".
