Got an email that my order is shipping so it will not be long before it arrives, maybe even Sat.

And the other good news is that all three parts are coming so no back orders!

My parts arrived yesterday but I didn't have time to check them out until today.

While the pictures are showing a bolt attaching the clamp to the extension there is no way that can happen. It could be that they are forgetting the hole in the clamp or it could be they have decided it wasn't needed. I was half expecting to see a clearance hole for the 3/16" bolt but just solid metal.

It does clamp down but it wasn't as stable as I think it could be. I added a piece of drawer liner and that was a major improvement. I did take a couple of pictures. The first two are of how it can clamp on and hold (with the drawer liner between the table and the extension).

In the last picture you can see where I think the hole was or should be. I might go ahead a drill it just to see how it works.

Anyway that is where I'm at for now. If I decide to do the drilling and try that I'll post pictures of it.

Interesting. No email or anything for me yet.

Hopefully that hole gets drilled and tapped.

Better than nothing I guess.

This is independent of shopsmith, I'm just doing this upgrade because I can and I'm paying for it. For those who ordered the "package" they should be contacted about this issue and a resolution should be forth coming.

The missing or perhaps no longer needed hole would be a clearance hole, not threaded. The extender is threaded in both holes. If I do the drilling I will be going with either a letter drill W or X. I'll start with the W and if I don't like the fit then I will come back with the X. I have no idea what or if shopsmith has/had for the hole.

I just order the three parts, the bolt and washer I have so didn't want to pay too much extra. So again this was me ordering three parts, not them supplying me a kit.

for what it is worth, here is the setup I have put together. I upgraded from a 500 to a 510. I called the MS and spoke with Anita. These are the parts I needed to use this with the new table. Clamp part number 515893, Threaded foot part number 518278. The foot has two threaded holes in it one to accept the post and the other one gets attached to the clamp with a bolt above the thumb screw. I hope the pictures show up here to make it clear.

So how is this clamped to the table? Is that a bolt in the foot end?

Sorry for the confusion, I should have left the thumb screw backed off so the gap in the clamp was clear. There is a hole drilled through the foot. The top of the clamp is threaded to receive the bolt that goes through the foot. The bolt is short enough so that it doesn't stick out the bottom of the foot allowing for the clamp to be tightened onto the work table. I had more photos but I wasn't able to select more than one to upload. I will have to check out the procedure for uploading a group of pictures at a time.
Everyone here has been of great help to me when I have questions so I was glad to provide some help in this case. Thanks all
John
