Yeah, something seems to be be broken with just that particular old thread that was referenced. Strange. I did a workaround to get this link that comes up on the picture of interest:

You can right click on the little gray 'note' icon at the left end of the second line of the post, right under the first character of the title. Left edge of the "by line." Then Copy Link Address, etc:

Matthew,
I hope you were able to see the pictures in the link. The second picture in Dusty's post shows it very well. The bearing should sit flush with the casting. The retainer keeps it there otherwise the bearing/wheel assembly will want to push out when connected to the headstock.
