Not to worry! If the charger was only delivering 10A at 9V, the 12V battery would only deliver about 1/3 more Amperes.mark-b wrote:When I jumped my system, my jumper box had little to no charge. That IS what I determined. I also dug into the charger.
What a pandora's box! A wire was loose causing intermittent output, a limit switch was also cycling on/off(the 'clicking') and it was also erratically making/breaking contact for a couple of minutes prior to clicking off.I also determined that the surface area and distance affects current draw.(That IS what we expected).
What has been learned! If you are going to derust items with large surface area (> 2ft² closer than 4 " apart, you will need a very heavy duty power source(>10A @ 12V). I was trying to do TWICE that much!!!
