The thin head bolt is what we will be sending out.reible wrote: BTW Mark from Incra indicated they had a thin head bolt coming my way as a solution for rear guard issue. It looks like shopsmith is going a different way? Or are the two the same solution?

I BOX review of sorts (spoiler alert)

Today's mail had an envelope from Incra. This is what was inside:
DO NOT study the picture provided.... it will only confuse you, why take a chance??
The solution works and you now can slide the rear guard over the miter assembly.
If you can't wait for yours a quick fix can be found in the plumbing area where the toilet bolts are sold, just make sure you get the right size.
At this point we have caught up on the issues to date. Operational testing for me is still a few weeks away, so any one else who is actually using the tool should share their findings.

It is confusing only if one does not take into account left/right miter bar optional positioning.
Ya replace the one over the miter bar whose 'wings' are clearly shown in de pix.

A little package arrived in yesterdays mail.
I wasn't expecting this but here it is, another solution to the issue....
Has anyone else gotten the t-bolt and this upgrade yet?

How does this improve the fit? Different taper to the screw head? Would it work with a bar that did not have countersinks?reible wrote:A little package arrived in yesterdays mail.

Gale's Law: The bigger the woodworking project, the less the mistakes show in any photo taken far enough away to show the entire project!
I haven't done anything with the screws and will not so long as the set up I have keeps working.algale wrote:How does this improve the fit? Different taper to the screw head? Would it work with a bar that did not have countersinks?
My holes have been modified and now work with the screws that came with the original parts, and I have no unmodified parts to test with. If I get time I will shoot a photo of the two screws (new and old) to see how they differ. That is about the best I can do.

The screw heads are undercut(down at the junction of the threads and the head).
This allows the screw to be advanced further toward the bar.
It achieves the same thing as countersinking the bar, but does not reduce the thread depth in the bar.

[quote="JPG40504"]I disagree with Mark - as I am sure do you!
De arbor blade shoulder is on de left so de jig needs to be to de left also!
P.S. in defense of Mark at Incra, he was using the 'thingy' most obvious(the blade tilt direction). From there I am not sure he looked beyond the dual miter gauge slots. Again we be that weird machine not always understood by the 'ignorant']

A wobble dado widens (and narrows) equally away and toward the center of the blade. What difference would it make regarding left or right miter slot?

It Ain't intended for use with a wobble blade!!!!!!!
Doing so will be detrimental to the jig(and the pride of the operator who tries to).
