Owner's Weekend/Academy Classes in July

Not sure this is allowed so Nick please feel free to delete but I checked and there are hotels as cheap as $39 a night at www.travelbypaul.com for a 1* hotel in Dayton during that week. If there is enough interest I can get a block of rooms at a nicer hotel (or a specific hotel) at a discount also.

Also there are discounts if you book hotels and flights together.

Our rolling rally won't finish up in time for me to make the ride (motorcycle) from Nor-Cal to Ohio.

I can get the Country Inn for $74 per night during the week. The Drury is sold out the week of 7/12-7/19 as are most of the lower priced hotels.

There are about 30 holds listed on the site, depending on where people want to stay there are some good discounts available. If there is a group of 10+ room we might be able to get some additional discounts but this will require knowing how many people are needing a room.

I inheirited a Model 500 but am real hesitant to use it without some training. I am interested in the training in July but, as a beginner, I am wondering if making a Grandmother Clock is a bit much for me to be able to keep up with the rest of the group. I would value your input as to what you may suggest.

Drew and I have worked with eigth-graders to produce museum-quality, flying replicas of historic aircraft. It's a walk in the park for us to get novices to build grandmother clocks and tool chests.

Well, Nick already answered, so I'll just afirm what he said. They can take you from wherever you are, and make you better. One guy in our cabinet making class had never touched woodworking. Walked out with a great product. (And took three more classes.)

Also heard good things about The Country Inn. There are several hotels and motels further out, and some camping areas further out if anyone is interested.

After what I had to buy last year and this year, I've no budget for classes 'til next year:(

Gentlemen,
1. can you please advise if this is still a GO? Last posting is May 9 above; today is June 4 (fourth). It's a long haul from the East Coast NJ to attend.
2. Is there an Agenda posted for the Weekend? and
3. will the Academy be a hands on you work the SS, you make a project which each student can take home? If so I will come and bring $$$ and buddy my shop dog.

4. Also a local campground, is there one close?
