Patch Tuesday is the second Tuesday of every month where Microsoft releases security patches to Windows. These patches go above and beyond what antivirus and other programs can provide and are no longer being issued for XP. You might be fine. There are things you can do to minimize your vulnerability. But I would not recommend using an internet connected PC running Windows XP any longer.

If you like XP you can keep XP!
This +1. We (my company(s)) have Windows 2000 running on some nodes with antivirus and such with no problems at all. This hub bub is mostly marketing ....

Scare tactics to make you send more money to Bill ..... XP will be viable for a few years yet ....

Just my .02 cents ;)

Don't send it to Bill. Linux is free. The end of XP has made installs of Ubuntu go through the roof. It's an amazing system.

As far as using XP, it's like seat belts. Some people don't want anyone telling them they to have to wear seat belts. And they'll probably be fine. But more than a few people could save themselves a lot of pain and wasted time if they wore them.

I have no skin in the game. We all get to study and learn and make up our own minds.
