1. can you please advise if this is still a GO? Last posting is May 9 above]

Buddydog
As far as I know this is a go. There are two academy classes one before the weekend and one after. Their agenda is listed at http://www.shopsmithacademy.com/Intro_to_Academy.htm
I think both classes are limited to 6 students and I don't know how enrollment is but if I wanted to go to one I would be calling Shopsmith today.

I will let someone in the know answer the rest of your questions.

Hi Jeff,
Here is another link for you to check out: http://www.shopsmith.com/ownersite/julyevent/info.htm?jn=7028&;kt=MKT&kr=0007698519
and this for a campground: http://www.koa.com/where/oh/35102/

I hope this was helpful!

BTW, the classes are limited to 6 students each (reservations required), but the weekend is not.

I tried signing up for the SS class on Thursday. The nice lady on the phone told me that both classes were full. they are doing a waiting list for each course. I am the third person on the waiting list for the SS course as of Thursday afternoon.

I suspect that, if they had the room and instructors, they could easily fill 2 sessions of the courses.

For Nick and company:
Do we just show up at the factory on Friday morning for the weekend sessions? Anyone to ask for when we get there? Any problem in parking at the factory? Any prior sign-up(s) needed for the weekend or for any of the weekend seminars? Any place close to factory for breakfast together or will most attendees eat at the hotels? Will Shopsmith be offering any special sales that weekend? What times will the swap meets be occuring? What can we be doing or seeing if not at one of the day seminars? I am looking forward to being there at this time. Thanks

Hi,

I know that this is an old thread, I'm interested in building one of the tool chest that they built at the academy. Does any one know where to find the plans?

Thank You.

Hi,
For tool chests, I found 2 links.

http://www.shopsmith.com/ownersite/cata ... hr-ptc.htm

http://www.shopsmith.com/ownersite/item ... tem=522467
(This 2nd linked CD is one that specifically calls out a 9-drawer 2-piece workshop toolbox. I received this CD free with one of my orders a while back.)

Good luck,

Hi Dcottrill,

I don't know exactly which tool chest was built at the academy, but here is a link you can look at for one version of the Shopsmith 9-draw tool chest:

Thank you for posting your replies Dennis and Nuhobby. These plans do not appear to be the same as what was pictured as the project for the summer academy, see attached image.

Does anyone know someone that attended and if they have a copy of the plans used???

Again thank you.

Hi,

It could be that the plans haven't been published. Here is some tantalizing info:

Yes Tantalizing indeed! Nick told me that SS was going to put out a video on the project; which I would purchase. When I called this month to inquire about them I was told that SS isn't developing them at this time and even the rough plans are not for sale.

I am hoping to connect with some one that attended the class that might be willing to at least send me some dimensions. I think that i can sketch up some plans to work from after I have the dimensions.

Thank you for the link to the larger pictures.
