So it has been raining here every day for the last week. My grass in my front yard was last mowed on Wednesday the 11th, the last dry day. It has now sprouted the seed pods or whatever you want to call them on top and is 8 inches high. I have a feeling I will be setting the mower to the highest setting and then mowing a second time at the proper height tonight. Hopefully the ground will be dry enough to mow. Yesterday I sunk into the mud as I walked through it to see if it could be mowed. All this rain can go to OK and help them out.

I have that same problem on about 8 acres that we mow with the lawn tractors and another 6 that I mow with one of the big tractors. Except I wish more of mine was "only" about 8". Much of it is knee high. I would rather let it grow than rut it all up.

We actually have sun....yea..it's when those dark grey moisture depositing things overhead move on. I know its been much worse for you in the midwest, but we've had our little share here too. News reported the coldest April since 1983 locally.

It is showing rain for the next 5 days here and there is much to do to clean out the shop and try and get some work done. I have several new SS items I would like to try, Got a speed reducer and also the quick release's for my scroll saw I would like to get it rebuilt and finished. But need some sunshine to get items out of the shop while I am cleaning. Also picked up a Collett chuck made for the SS and need to clean and see how it will work for turning some small boxes. Also by brother in law brought me two bags of what a friend was burning as kindling and you will not believe what it looks like. I will try and attach a picture of the kindling on here but as you know I am not the best with that. I poured it out on the table and was sorting it out. [ATTACH]13104[/ATTACH]

There's a story behind that pile that needs to be told. Holy cow! I'd love to have someone drop off those scrps on my doorstep. I'd go crazy seeing all the projects they could become. NICE STUFF!!!

My random - raining, so spent the morning in the shop and finally got around to tuning the 510, aligning the main table, extension table, miter gauges and fence. Now I'm ready to make sawdust!!

Bill, if some of that just isn't interesting to you, I'll have one of my kids come by and pick it up on the way to Arkansas to see me. LOL

I think there is more to come and not sure of the total story behind it but someone use to turn pens or knew someone that did and this was stuff they no longer need. I have to turn two pen for all of this and he picked out the piece of wood he wanted. Ben I have a lot of wood I have picked up and some is waiting to cut and turn, Give me a PM and we can discuss them picking up some wood. This is some curly Maple and Black Walnut I picked up for $11 a timber, seasoned and I have been resawing it down to use. Also some of the walnut I have worked so far. [ATTACH]13112[/ATTACH]

Very nice stack of lumber. Hopefully, you find a good project for it.

Thought of the moment. I have a dentist appointment this afternoon. I don't like the dentist. Maybe it is because I have broken 7 teeth in my life, one of which turned into a root canal, and I have my dentist's personal cell phone number just in case. hmm... who knows. At least today is only a general cleaning.
