Very interesting thread thanks for great information. I generally use an incra 5000 sled when desiring exacting angles. Last year my wife desired an unusual frame for a project she made. I fussed for a week and finally decided the 5000 was the sled of choice. First cut was way off the mark. I then checked alignment and learned that Incra sleds are capable of misalignment. Once aligned the joints were perfect. The auction where her piece sold had it on display. A gentleman who makes some fine cabinetry was studying the piece as I walked by. Someone explained to him my wife had done the artwork and he asked if I had cut the frame and wanted to know how I got he angles so perfect and how it was assembled. He apparently owns an Incra sled and smiled when hearing how I had to make it work right. I love seeing new options Thanks again. Jim

I recently received the June 2013 issue of Fine Woodworking. There is a good article about table saw safety with a link to the FWW "extras" area where they have 3 sled plans. 2 of the 3 are freebies, the other requires the paid membership. The link to David Pruett's sled also links to PDF downloads and even a SketchUp download.

I saw nothing earth shattering out of any of them, but resources are resources

After I get some shop time and whip out more picture frames using my "proof of concept" sled, I'm going to combine lots of ideas I've found for sleds and build one that I think I'll be happy with for a long time. When I get to that project, I'll try to remember to come back here and post the results. Now, to get some shop time....
