Main Table and Carriage Assemblies

I have not, in the past, lubricated the Main Table Legs and I never needed to. The table was easy to move up and down (change depth of cut). But lately, the table has been more difficult to raise and lower. In fact, when I did raise and lower it I would sometime hear a screeching sound.
Today, as a completely unplanned event, I had the Main Table Assembly lifted out and laying on the bench.
When I got ready to reassemble, I decided to check the carriage. Every thing looked good. I wiped every thing off but before reinstalling the table I decided to spray some TopCote in the holes where the table legs would go. Not very much and taking care to not get any on the wedges.
Absolutely unbelievable how smoothly the Main Table goes up and down.
Obviously, there has been a maintenance step that I have been neglecting for all these years. Now TopCote might not be the right stuff. Only time will tell. But right now, my table goers up and down like a brand new unit.
Now how do I know that?:rolleyes: I have not had a brand new unit for 25 years and I certainly don't remember that far back.
